This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Denial of service (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-1684)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a problem within the IBM MQ MQTT Service logic. A remote attacker can trigger an error with MQTT topic string publishing and cause a denial of service attack to be executed against MQTT clients attempting to connect to the queue manager.

2) Code injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-1792)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a problem within IBM MQ queue manager libraries. A local attacker can inject and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
