Description
This security bulletin contains information about 11 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8567)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper enforcement of cross-domain policies by Microsoft Edge. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, bypass cross-domain policies and gain elevated privileges.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8545)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when Microsoft Edge handles cross-origin requests. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it and determine the origin of all webpages in the affected browser.
3) Spoofing attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8564)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and spoof the content of the website.
4) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8557)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8556)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8555)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8551)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
8) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8543)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
9) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8542)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
10) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8541)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
11) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8588)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing malicious input within the ChakraCore scripting engine. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
