Security Bulletin
This security bulletin contains one low risk vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU16702
Risk: Low
CVSSv3.1: 8.3 [CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:P/RL:U/RC:C]
CVE-ID: N/A
CWE-ID:
CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a signedness bug in validating the user-supplied number of elements provided by the user in the structure passed to the Kernel driver function. A local attacker can perform a call to an struct method exported from the Kernel driver with the IOService 'com_trusteer_rapportke_v2', trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code in the context of the service daemon.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
Cybersecurity Help is currently unaware of any official solution to address the vulnerability.
