Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20502)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive memory allocation in the AP4_DataBuffer class when called from AP4_HvccAtom::Create in Core/Ap4HvccAtom.cpp. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20407)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within AP4_DescriptorFactory::CreateDescriptorFromStream in Core/Ap4DescriptorFactory.cpp, as demonstrated by mp42hls. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.

3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20408)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within AP4_StdcFileByteStream::Create in System/StdC/Ap4StdCFileByteStream.cpp, as demonstrated by mp42hls. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.

4) Heap-based buffer over-read (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20409)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read in AP4_AvccAtom::Create in Core/Ap4AvccAtom.cpp, as demonstrated by mp42hls. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.

5) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20186)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive memory allocation in the AP4_Sample::ReadData in Core/Ap4Sample.cpp. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion, related to AP4_DataBuffer::SetDataSize and AP4_DataBuffer::ReallocateBuffer in Core/Ap4DataBuffer.cpp and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

6) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-20095)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive memory allocation in EnsureCapacity in Core/Ap4Array.h. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted MP4 file, trigger resource exhaustion, as demonstrated by mp42hls and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
