Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists in the getImage() method of the Image/ImageProcessor class due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data. A remote attacker can trick the victim into generating a PDF file with the affected application from a malicious image file, trigger a PHP deserialization through the phar:// wrapper and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Update to version 7.1.8.
