DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a certain sequence of BGP session restart on a remote peer may cause the local routing protocol daemon (RPD) process to crash and restart. A remote attacker can repeatedly crash the RPD process and cause prolonged denial of service attack.
This vulnerability affects only devices with enabled the BGP graceful restart helper mode or the BGP graceful restart mechanism. MitigationInstall updates from vendor's website.
