EUVDB-ID: #VU21514

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 6.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2018-7838

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error on the FTP service of the controller or the Ethernet BMENOC module when it receives a FTP CWD command with a data length greater than 1020 bytes. A power cycle is then needed to reactivate the FTP service. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service.
