Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-12587)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the EAP peer implementation allows the installation of a zero Pairwise Master Key (PMK) after the completion of any EAP authentication method. A local attacker in radio range can replay, decrypt, or spoof frames via a rogue access point.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-12586)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the EAP peer implementation processes EAP Success messages before any EAP method completion or failure. A local attacker in radio range can cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted message.
