Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9371)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9433)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and gain access to sensitive information.

3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9325)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a missing bounds check when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9232)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a missing bounds check when processing media content in libvpx. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

5) Double Free (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-2126)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing user-supplied data within the ParseContentEncodingEntry() function of mkvparser.cpp. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a double free error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
