Risk: High

CVSSv3: 8.3 [CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:P/RL:U/RC:C] [PCI]

CVE-ID: CVE-2019-17528

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer

Exploit availability: No

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the AP4_TfhdAtom::SetDefaultSampleSize() function in Core/Ap4TfhdAtom.h when called from AP4_Processor::ProcessFragments in Core/Ap4Processor.cpp. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted media file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
