Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in text_to_glyphs in sushi-font-widget.c in Gnome font viewer while parsing a TTF font file that lacks a name section. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted TTF file to the affected application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
