SB2019121012 - Information disclosure in Windows Media Player

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-1480)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition when processing media files in Windows Media Player. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted media file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-1481)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
