CVE-ID: CVE-2019-1469

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds Read

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the win32k component. A local user can use a specially crafted application to trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

2) Input validation error

Risk: Low

CVSSv3: 6.8 [CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C] [PCI]

CVE-ID: CVE-2019-1468

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper Input Validation

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Windows font library when processing specially crafted embedded fonts. A local attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted document or visit a website and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
