SB2020020510 - Multiple vulnerabilities in HashiCorp Consul and Consul Enterprise

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-7955)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected software does not uniformly enforce ACLs across all API endpoints "v1/agent/health/service/*". A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

2) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-7219)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the HTTP/RPC services allowed unbounded resource usage. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
