SB2020022106 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Honeywell NOTI-FIRE-NET Web Server (NWS-3)

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-6972)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the Fire Web Server’s authentication may be bypassed by a capture-replay attack from a web browser. A remote attacker can bypass web server authentication methods.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-6974)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and bypass access to restricted directories.
