Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-15785)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary in PrefsUI_LoadPrefs in prefs.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it with the affected software, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-5395)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in "SFD_GetFontMetaData()" function in sfd.c. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-5496)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the the "Type2NotDefSplines()" function in splinesave.c. A remote attacker can trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
