Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.
1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-0543)
CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to incomplete cleanup from specific special register read operations in some Intel(R) Processors. A local user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
2) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-12114)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition between threads updating mountpoint reference counter. A local user can exploit the race and crash the system.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-12654)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 9.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in the "mwifiex_ret_wmm_get_status()" function in "drivers/net/wireless/marvell/mwifiex/wmm.c" file. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
