Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Insufficient Session Expiration (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18905)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to manipulate data.

An issue was discovered in Mattermost Server before 4.0.0, 3.10.2, and 3.9.2, when used as an OAuth 2.0 service provider, Session invalidation was mishandled.

2) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18906)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.

An issue was discovered in Mattermost Server before 4.0.0, 3.10.2, and 3.9.2, when Single Sign-On OAuth2 is used. An attacker could claim somebody else's account.

3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18907)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via a channel header. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

4) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18908)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

An issue was discovered in Mattermost Server before 4.0.0, 3.10.2, and 3.9.2. A password-reset request was sometime sent to an attacker-provided e-mail address.

5) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18903)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website, such as occur if CORS is enabled.

6) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-18904)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via an uploaded file.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data.
