Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1454)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the SharePoint Server. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
2) Spoofing attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1443)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attack.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect processing of user-supplied data in the SharePoint server. A remote authenticated attacker can spoof page content.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1444)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when the Microsoft SharePoint software improperly parses specially crafted email messages. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted email, then convince the recipient to perform multiple actions while replying to the message and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
