Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-8733)
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the firmware. A local administrator can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-8734)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the firmware. A local administrator can pass specially crafted input to the application and gain elevated privileges on the system.
