Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-3430)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the application protocol handling features. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to click a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-3498)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of message contents. A remote authenticated attacker can send specially crafted messages and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.


3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-3495)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of message contents. A remote authenticated attacker can send specially crafted Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) messages and execute arbitrary code on the target system.


4) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-3537)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of message contents. A remote authenticated attacker can send specially crafted messages that contain Universal Naming Convention (UNC) links to a targeted user, convince the user to follow the provided link and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
