Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-25412)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the com_line() function in command.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted file with the application, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Double Free (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-25559)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
gnuplot 5.5 is affected by double free when executing print_set_output. This may result in context-dependent arbitrary code execution.
3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-25969)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the plotrequest() function. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
