Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1243)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the Microsoft Hyper-V on a host server fails to properly validate specific malicious data from a user on a guest operating system. A local user can use a specially crafted application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1080)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the Windows Hyper-V on a host server fails to properly handle objects in memory. A local user can trigger memory corruption and gain elevated privileges on the system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in te Windows Hyper-V on a host server. A remote authenticated attacker can run a specially crafted application and execute arbitrary code on the system.
