Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-17078)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in Microsoft Raw Image Extension. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-17081)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in MSRawImage Store Raw2Image method within Microsoft Raw Image Extension. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-17086)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Raw Image Extension. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-17082)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in MSRawImage Store Kodak Decoders within the Microsoft Raw Image Extension. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
5) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-17079)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Raw Image Extension. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crated file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
