SB2021010503 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Rock RMS

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Security Features (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-18642)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security features.

The vulnerability exists due to a flaw when updating the user profile. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request using the tampered user ID, change the user email address and perform a password reset.

2) Arbitrary file upload (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-18643)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of file during file upload within the "fileUpload.ashx" script. A remote attacker can upload a malicious file and execute it on the server.
