Description
This security bulletin contains information about 9 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13579)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in the PlanMaker document parsing functionality within 0x8011 and 0x820a record types. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-28587)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Office Art record-parsing functionality within the Version/Instance 0x001e. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27250)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Office Art record-parsing functionality within the Version/Instance 0x0005 and 0x0016. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27249)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Office Art record-parsing functionality within the Version/Instance 0x0004 and 0x0015. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27248)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Office Art record-parsing functionality within the Version/Instance 0x0003 and 0x0014. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27247)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Office Art record-parsing functionality within the Version/Instance 0x0002. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13580)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in the PlanMaker document parsing functionality within the 0x8010 record type. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
8) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13581)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the PlanMaker document parsing functionality within the 0x800d record. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted document, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
9) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13586)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the Excel Document SST Record 0x00fc functionality. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
