Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Missing authentication for critical function (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-1393)

CWE-ID: CWE-306 - Missing Authentication for Critical Function

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient access controls for a service running in the Data Network. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send specially crafted network packets to the affected system and gain unauthorized access to run containers or invoke host-level operations.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in a complete compromise of the affected system.

2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-1396)

CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions for certain API endpoint running in the Data Network. A remote non-authenticated attacker can gain unauthorized access to the system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow the attacker to learn device-specific information, create tech support files in an isolated volume, and make limited configuration changes.
