Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32478)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in LTI authorization endpoint. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32472)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A remote authenticated teacher exporting a forum in CSV format can receive a CSV of forums from all courses.

3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32473)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A remote authenticated student can view their quiz grade before it had been released, using a quiz web service.

4) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32474)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the XML-RPC call. A remote administrator can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.

5) Stored cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32475)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the ID numbers displayed in the quiz grading report. A remote attacker can inject and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

6) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32476)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the draft files area. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

7) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32477)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the last time a user accessed the mobile app is displayed on their profile page. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

8) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: N/A)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to unspecified security issue. A remote attacker cab bypass implemented security restrictions.
