The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to xds does not ensure that the Subject Alternative Name of an upstream is validated. A remote attacker can perform a man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-36213)
