CVE-ID: CVE-2018-18020
CWE-ID:
CWE-20 - Improper input validation
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.
In QPDF 8.2.1, in libqpdf/QPDFWriter.cc, QPDFWriter::unparseObject and QPDFWriter::unparseChild have recursive calls for a long time, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted PDF file.
MitigationUpdate the affected package qpdf to the latest version.

CVE-ID: CVE-2021-36978
CWE-ID:
CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the Pl_ASCII85Decoder::write() function when processing PDF files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
MitigationUpdate the affected package qpdf to the latest version.
