Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21829)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression EnumerationUncompressor::UncompressItem functionality. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI file, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21828)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression DecodeTreeBlock functionality within "Default case global". A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI File, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21827)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression DecodeTreeBlock functionality within "TREETOKEN_ATTRIBWHITESPACE". A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI File, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21826)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression DecodeTreeBlock functionality within "TREETOKEN_WHITESPACE". A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI File, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21830)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression LabelDict::Load functionality. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI file, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

6) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21825)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the XML Decompression PlainTextUncompressor::UncompressItem functionality. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted XMI file, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
