Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23437)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation when processing regular expressions. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.
2) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28675)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources in PsdImagePlugin.PsdImageFile method. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28676)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop in FliDecode.c. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28677)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when processing new line characters, such as "\r", "\n" when opening files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28678)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources in BlpImagePlugin. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-34552)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker with ability to pass controlled parameters directly into a convert function can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
