Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-12965)

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to CPUs transiently execute non-canonical loads using only the lower 48 address bits. A local attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-26318)

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a timing and power-based side channel attack. A local attacker can leverage the x86 PREFETCH instructions and obtain kernel address space information.
