Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13999)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the ScaleViewPortExtEx() function in libemf.cpp when processing EMF files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted EMF file to the application, trigger an integer overflow and crash the application.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-11863)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted EMF file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-11865)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing EMF files. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted EMF file to the application that is using the affected library, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-11866)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error when processing EMF files. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted EMF file to the application that is using the affected library, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
5) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-11864)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted EMF file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
