Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-34987)

The vulnerability allows a local administrator to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions within the HDAudio virtual device, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.


2) Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-34986)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to Time-of-check Time-of-use condition within the Parallels Service. A local user can create a symbolic link, abuse the service to execute a file and gain elevated privileges on the system.
