Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Code Injection

EUVDB-ID: #VU59098

Risk: Medium

CVSSv3.1: 5.8 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2021-44832

CWE-ID: CWE-94 - Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote user with permission to modify the logging configuration file can construct a malicious configuration using a JDBC Appender with a data source referencing a JNDI URI which can execute remote code.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center: 12.4.0.0

Q & A

Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?

Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote authenticated privileged user via the Internet.

How the attacker can exploit this vulnerability?

The attacker would have to send a specially crafted request to the affected application in order to exploit this vulnerability.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

2) Improper input validation

EUVDB-ID: #VU55044

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 7.2 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2021-2351

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Advanced Networking Option in Oracle Database Server. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

3) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

EUVDB-ID: #VU56678

Risk: High

CVSSv3.1: 8.9 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N/E:H/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40438

CWE-ID: CWE-918 - Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

Exploit availability: Yes

Description

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the mod_proxy module in Apache HTTP Server. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request with a chosen uri-path and trick the web server to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
