Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in PPPoE client when handling responses to broadcasts discovery packets. A remote attacker who controls server on the same network can send a specially crafted response to the affected PPPoE client, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's website.
