Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2156)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the Base component in Google Chrome. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted web page, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.


2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2294)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within WebRTC implementation. A remote attacker can trick the victim ti visit a specially crafted website, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Note, the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.


3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-30560)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the Blink XSLT component in Google Chrome. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted web page, trick the victim into visiting it, trigger use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.


4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-29824)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in several buffer handling functions in buf.c (xmlBuf*) and tree.c (xmlBuffer*). A remote attacker can pass specially crafted multi-gigabyte XML file to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
