Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7860)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a heap-based buffer overflow in parse_unix function in core/ext/client_channel/parse_address.c. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted file the affected software, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7861)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in gpr_free() function in core/lib/support/alloc.c. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted file, trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9431)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in core/lib/iomgr/error.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
