The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization logic in vhdmp.sys driver when accessing VHD files. A local user can execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.


2) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-34696)
