Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.
1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38129)
CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in the com.keysight.tentacle.licensing.LicenseManager.addLicenseFile() method. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and upload arbitrary files on the system.
2) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38130)
CWE-ID: CWE-89 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the com.keysight.tentacle.config.ResourceManager.smsRestoreDatabaseZip() method. A remote attacker can specify an UNC path for the database file and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
