Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-34300)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read in tinyexr::DecodePixelData. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38529)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the rleUncompress component. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
