Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the PushShortPixel() function in quantum-private.h when processing TIFF images. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted TIFF image to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Mitigation

Install updates from vendor's repository.
