Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-39225)

CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote user to modify session object properties of another user and disclose custom fields from that session object.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the _Session class when handling write requests for session objects with a known object ID. A remote user can update the user field of a foreign session object to read custom fields from that session object.

The issue only affects foreign session objects. It may be possible to brute-force guess a valid session object ID, and the impact may be greater in deployments that use custom logic to relate specific session objects to privileges.
