Description
This security bulletin contains information about 12 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-45386)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the add_tree_ipv6() function in tree.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-45387)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the add_tree_ipv4() function in tree.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Double Free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27416)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in /tcpedit/plugins/dlt_jnpr_ether/jnpr_ether.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a double free error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27418)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the do_checksum_math() function in /tcpedit/checksum.c. A remote attacker can trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27939)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the get_layer4_v6() function in common/get.c in tcprewrite. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27940)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read within he get_ipv6_next() function in common/get.c in tcprewrite. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
7) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27941)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read within the get_l2len_protocol() function in common/get.c in tcprewrite. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
8) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27942)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to heap-based buffer over-read within the parse_mpls() function in common/get.c in tcpprep. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
9) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-28487)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due memory leak within the fix_ipv6_checksums() function in tcpreplay. A remote attacker can force the application to leak memory and perform denial of service attack.
10) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37047)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the get_ipv6_next() function in common/get.c in tcprewrite. A remote attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
11) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37048)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the get_l2len_protocol() function in common/get.c in tcprewrite. A remote attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
12) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37049)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the parse_mpls() function in common/get.c in tcpprep. A remote attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
