Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Exposure of Resource to Wrong Sphere (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-39212)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to improper implementation of security restrictions in the “policy” module when parsing PostScript files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted PostScript file with customized policy.xml and bypass implemented security restrictions.

2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3596)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in ReadSVGImage() function in coders/svg.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service attack.
