Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Prototype pollution (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-11358)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform prototype pollution, which can result in information disclosure or data manipulation.


2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-11023)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when passing <option> elements to jQuery’s DOM manipulation methods. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


3) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-30123)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when handling input passed via Rack's Lint middleware and CommonLogger middleware. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
