Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-2097)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to read arbitrary files on the system.The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Action View. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request, containing directory traversal sequences (e.g. "../") and view contents of arbitrary file on vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to incomplete fix of SB2016021701.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-22885)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the Action Pack within the "redirect_to" or "polymorphic_url" helper. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
