Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40393)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the RS-274X aperture macro variables handling functionality. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted gerber file, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40394)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in the RS-274X aperture macro outline primitive functionality. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted gerber file, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40401)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in the RS-274X aperture definition tokenization functionality. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted gerber file and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
4) Missing Initialization of a Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40403)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to the missing initialization of a structure in the pick-and-place rotation parsing functionality. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted pick-and-place file and gain access to sensitive information on the system.
