Description
This security bulletin contains information about 10 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-21845)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Panel Processor component in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. A remote authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability to read and manipulate data.
2) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-21844)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Elastic Search component in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. A remote authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability to read and manipulate data.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-40149)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted XML or JSON data. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application, trigger an out-of-bounds write and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Type conversion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-10735)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion in algorithms with quadratic time complexity when using non-binary bases within the int() call. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the affected application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Incorrect Implementation of Authentication Algorithm (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27782)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to the way libcurl handles previously used connections in a connection pool for subsequent transfers. Several TLS and SSH settings were left out from the configuration match checks, resulting in erroneous matches for different resources. As a result, libcurl can send authentication string from one resource to another, exposing credentials to a third-party.
6) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42003)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data when the UNWRAP_SINGLE_VALUE_ARRAYS feature is enabled. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
7) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-31129)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of user-supplied input when parsing overly long strings. A remote attacker can pass a string that contains more that 10k characters and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) attack.
8) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25857)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when handling YAML files. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
9) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37434)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing a large gzip header within inflateGetHeader in inflate.c. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted file to the affected application, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
10) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3918)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data during the validation of a JSON object. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted JSON file for validation and execute arbitrary code.
